A man has been stopped for driving at over 200km/h on Highway 401.
Leeds OPP says the 22-year-old Ajax man was caught in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township on Christmas night travelling 104km/h over the speed limit. The man also registered an alert on a roadside test. The OPP impounded his vehicle and suspended his drivers’ license. He was charged with dangerous driving, stunt driving and having an open container of liquor in his vehicle.
The man is scheduled to appear in Brockville Court on January 19th. Police remind drivers not to drive if they’ve been drinking and to stick to the speed limits for their safety, and that of others.
