Prescott Closer to Marketing Real Estate for sale

The Town of Prescott is taking the next step towards marketing town owned real estate for sale.

At Committee of the Whole last night Chief Administrative Officer Pierre Mercier announced that, after an open call for applications, the Committee suggests Council enter into a partnership with Colliers. According to the CAO there were two national, two local and one combo proposal submitted to the town. Mercier says Collier stood out from the rest because they have experience in publicizing property, they are known around the world and have been active in both Brockville and Cornwall. He believes Collier’s experience dealing with municipal industrial and commercial property will yield the best results for the town.

During the presentation it was noted that Industrial Park has around 40 vacant acres on the South side of the 401 and close to 65 acres on the North side. Mayor Brett Todd asked if the town would have their own person or “face” while dealing with the broker and Mercier said there would be. Mayor Todd says he would like to see the person come in and talk to council about their marketing plan.
