Woman charged with providing false name

A woman from North Augusta is facing numerous charges after lying to police about who she was.

According to Brockville Police Services their officers pulled the woman over for a traffic violation on Parkedale Avenue. She did not have identification on her but provided the police with a name and personal information. After checking the name in his car the officer realized the woman had given him a false name.

Police say their officer then returned to the vehicle, determined the driver’s actual identity and placed her under arrest for personation. She was taken to the Brockville Police Station and further charged with breach of probation and a number of Highway Traffic Act offences.
