Beer and cider will soon be sold at a local grocery store.
The Real Canadian Superstore on Parkdale Avenue in Brockville has been chosen in the latest wave of approved vendors. The Superstore is one of 87 locations that will be allowed to start selling beer and cider in April.
This group of vendors’ means there will be 370 grocery stores in Ontario that are licensed to sell beer and cider. This number is expected to be close to 450 when the changes are finished. According to the Ontario government 70 grocers are also licensed to sell wine.
Under provincial law these grocers must have designated sale hours, sale areas and meet provincial regulations surrounding training and the handling of alcohol.
