South Nation Conservation accepting Tree Orders

The South Nation Conservation team is already trying to get community members planting.

Even though spring is still a few months away the SNC has started accepting tree orders for the 2018 planting season. Seedlings are offered at a reduced rate though the 2018 Tree Planting Program. There is a minimum of 100 saplings per order and species must be ordered in multiples of 50. SNC Forest Technician Cheyene Brunet says there are also subsidies available for projects using more than 1,500 trees as a windbreak or 2,000 for block planting on at least two and a half acres of land.

Orders will not be accepted after March 1st and all seedlings are sourced from the Ferguson Forest Centre in Kemptville. The order form can be found by clicking here. At the time this article was published South Nation still had White Birch, Norway Spruce, Highbush Cranberry, Bur Oak and a number of other species available.
