Government funding encourages youth hires

Businesses hiring talented youth are now eligible for government funding.

According to Rod Palmer, at CSE Consulting in Prescott, small business owners and employers are eligible for up to $2,000 if they hire and retain staff between 15 and 29 years old. To qualify for the Employing Young Talent Incentive the employer must have fewer than 100 employees at the time the youth will start work, hire the youth for a job averaging at least twenty hours a week and be licensed to operate in Ontario.

Employers who are eligible will receive a $1,000 payment at three months and another $1,000 after six months if they are still employing the youth. Applications for this initiative will not be accepted after March 31st, 2020. For more details contact Rod, his contact information can be found here.
