Social media at the Upper Canada District School Board has been given an update.
During the last Board of Trustees meeting the board’s social media policy was updated and dubbed the Appropriate Use of Technology Policy. The change expands the policy to oversee all technology, such as email or text message, and not exclusively social media platforms. The move brings the policy in line with other educational organizations like the Council of the Ontario College of Teachers.
The policy is intended to ensure staff and students are responsible, respectful and lawful when using any form of communication technology.
