The Prescott BIA budget for 2018 has been approved.
This week Town Council voted in favour of a $39,000 operating budget and $25,000 project budget. Town Treasurer Mathew Armstrong says the operating budget is made up of an annual BIA levy and $10,000 from reserves. The project budget will also be taken out of the reserves but specific partners are also expected to fund certain projects.
CAO Pierre Mercier is expecting the BIA to communicate with town hall on recruiting new businesses because he sees an overlap between their objectives. The budget includes $4,000 for a program the BIA is calling Prescott Launch. The initiative is being described as a pop-up shop style campaign.
