Grenville County OPP officers charged three people for impaired driving last week.
Last Monday, officers got a tip from a citizen about a possible impaired driver on Water Street in Prescott. Police responded and arrested a 62-year-old Edwardsburgh Township man. He was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.
An officer was out on general patrol along County Road 2 in Augusta Township on Saturday. The officer witnessed a motor vehicle swerve across the center line almost striking the oncoming cruiser. The vehicle was stopped and a 47-year-old Prescott woman was charged with care or control while ability impaired by alcohol.
A citizen reported a possible impaired driver also on Saturday. The person was parked along County Road 21 in Edwardsburgh revving his engine and tending a small bonfire beside his vehicle. A 47-year-old man from Alberta was charged with care or control while ability impaired by alcohol.
All three drivers had their vehicles impounded for seven days and their driver’s licenses suspended for 90 days.
They will appear in Brockville Court on July 20.
