An officer with the Ontario Provincial Police is facing charges of Following too Closely. The charges follow an incident that occured on Monday night. The on-duty officer was traveling on County Road 46 in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township.
The 23-year-old constable was in an unmarked cruiser when he ran into a vehicle towing a boat. The vehicle was traveling in the same direction and had slowed to make a turn.
There were no injuries and both vehicles had only minor damage.
The officer has been with the OPP for 10 months and is currently posted at the Leeds detachment.
