The weekly Community Barbecues in Prescott are bringing in dollars for local charities. Sauve Heating & Air Conditioning launched the barbecues in May. The first seven events brought in over $1,000 for organizations like the South Grenville Food Bank, Connect Youth and Jumpstart. Owner Ben Sauve says the barbecues are going well.
The barbecues are held every Thursday at the Prescott Canadian Tire parking lot from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Next week’s BBQ will benefit the Prescott Splash Pad project. The cost is $5 for a drink and cheeseburger with all the fixings, two hot dogs and a drink or a veggie burger and drink. Sauve says the charities are all lined up for this year.
Sauve Heating is planning on continuing the Community Barbecues next year. The events will run into the beginning of September, depending on weather. For more details, check out the Sauve Heating Facebook page.
