The South Grenville Chamber of Commerce will be giving a portion of the proceeds from the Charlie McFarlane Memorial Golf Tournament to the Food For All Food bank.
The tournament will be on September 12th at the Prescott Golf Club, with a shot gun start at noon. Bonnie Pidgeon Cougler is the Executive Director of the food bank and says the goal for the food bank would be around $1,000 dollars.
“It’s ramping up to being quite the need going into the fall, Christmas, winter season. So, what’s really neat about this golf tournament is, is that it’s part of the hunger action month, which is September. So, this (golf tournament) fits in quite nicely.”
Pidgeon Cougler says the tournament is still looking for players. Registration costs $100 for Prescott Golf Club members and $125 for non-members. The price includes the cart, green fees and a roast beef dinner. People can reserve a spot for the dinner only for $50.
