The 1000 Islands Gananoque Ultimate Shootout and Poker Run will feature a stop in Prescott on September eighth.
Boaters taking part in the poker run will be stopping in town for lunch at the Prescott Legion. Dennis Stein is the Volunteer Coordinator for Poker Runs America and Powerboat Canada and says they are expecting about 40 boats this year.
“We’re going to be docking in Sandra S. Lawn Harbour and the boaters will go from there to lunch. This will give the public a good chance to see the boats up close.”
The day will start off in Gananoque with the boats leaving between 10:00 and 10:30 in the morning. They will make a card stop in front of the Brockville Harbour, on the water. They will move on to Prescott, and return to Gananoque around 1:30.
On Sunday, September ninth, the Ultimate Shootout event will be happening at three in the afternoon with performance boats My Way and Aquamania in attendance. Stein says boaters are able test their speed that day.
“It’ll give people that bring their own boats a chance to run down this course that they’re going to set up and it’ll be radared so people will be able to see how fast their boats go. They’re going to cap it off with a shootout with the poker run boats.”
This event is in celebration of Poker Runs America’s 30th anniversary. It will be running from September seventh to the ninth at the Gananoque Municipal Marina. For a full list of events, click here.
