Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the area.
Environment Canada says conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain. Thunderstorms may develop near noon or early this afternoon and rapidly intensify.
People are encouraged to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
