Kettle Campaign nets $101,000 for Salvation Army

It was the best year ever for the Kettle Campaign. The Salvation Army raised $101,000, which will go towards services and programs for people in Prescott and Brockville.

The campaign launched mid-November and wrapped up on Christmas Eve.

Major Stephen McNeilly says it’s all thanks to the volunteers that man the kettles and the generosity of the community. He noted the funds are put to good use, including the Christmas hampers handed out to nearly 500 households.

McNeilly explained the Salvation Army is there for people in need. He says the organization is committed to giving hope to the community.

The campaign fell just shy of its $110,000 goal.
