Minister Lisa MacLeod was in town to make a funding announcement. The St. Lawrence Shakespeare festival is getting a $23,684 Ontario Arts Council (OAC) grant.
Ontario’s Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries joined MPP Steve Clark in Prescott on Saturday to deliver the news.
Clark says he’s tremendously proud of the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival. He thanked Minister MacLeod and the OAC for the important financial support. Clark explained that the world-class performances in Prescott’s beautiful riverfront amphitheatre help enrich the lives of local residents and sustain the region’s tourism economy.
Minister MacLeod noted the government is proud to support arts organizations like the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival as they deliver a spectacular double bottom line — enriching the lives of people across our province and helping to build a strong and prosperous Ontario economy.
