Man Dies Following Fatal Truck Crash On Highway 401

A man is dead following a fatal crash on Highway 401.

On Wednesday, shortly after 3 p.m., the Stormont Dundas & Glengarry OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the westbound side of the highway between Upper Canada Road and Church Road, in South Dundas.

Police say a westbound truck collided with another truck from behind.

The driver of the first truck, a 46-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the second driver was not injured.

The OPP has shut down a section of the highway with detours in place as it continues to investigate, and the reopening time is not yet known.

It’s the second incident in the area for the day after a man was hit by a truck along the highway earlier this morning, sending him to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
