Health Unit Confirms Positive COVID-19 Case At Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute

A COVID-19 case has been reported at Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute.

The Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit confirmed the case Monday, saying a person at the school has tested positive for the coronavirus. 

There’s no word on whether the case is a student or staff member.

The Health Unit says it’s monitoring the situation closely and it’s followed up to isolate all students and staff who had a high-risk exposure.

The school is still open and is operating on its regular schedule, and it has taken all necessary steps to prevent the spread of the infection.

The Health Unit is encouraging residents to continue following public health guidelines and to monitor their symptoms carefully.
