High school students in the Upper Canada District School Board will now be subject to daily COVID-19 screening before – or as they arrive at school.
The Board says as of Wednesday, high school students will have to complete daily screening, and confirm with their school that they completed screening, with results indicating they’re allowed to attend.
Before leaving for school, students will be asked to complete the UCDSB Student COVID-19 Self Screening Tool – which they will use in place of the provincial one they may already be using.
“The UCDSB Student COVID-19 Self-Screening Tool can be completed using any device, including a smartphone,” Director of Education, Stephen Sliwa said. “Students simply need to click the link, log in with their UCDSB email credentials and complete the form. When students complete the screening, the school will be automatically notified.”
If you do not have access to a device or internet connectivity – you’ll be asked to sign in at your school and confirm on paper that you’ve completed the self-screening.
“Ensuring the health and safety of our students and staff is a priority,” Sliwa added. “We all play an important role in keeping everyone safe and limiting the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.”
Anyone with questions about the new process, can reach out to their schools’ principal or vice-principal directly.
