Seaway Surge Announces Intent To Run Local 2021 House League Baseball Programs

The Seaway Surge Baseball Club is looking to take up the mantle and provide house league baseball programs for the summer.

The club announced its intent to run local house league baseball in 2021, following the decision by local baseball leagues to end their programming at all age levels for this year.

As a result, Seaway is looking to coordinate house league ball in North Grenville, North Dundas, and South Dundas for the upcoming season.

Communications Director Chris Warren says they want to provide a safe, fun, and developmental environment where players can practice and play home games at their local diamonds from May to August.

“We want to keep kids having fun, playing baseball and continue to develop their skills,” Warren said. “That can’t be done without baseball being played at the grassroots level. Whether that’s younger kids from all the way up to 18 – kids just want to go out and play baseball and have some fun in the summer.”

Since 2015, the club has been providing competitive baseball for players ages 8 to 22 in eastern Ontario.

Warren says it’s the clubs intention to ensure local, affordable, recreational house league baseball continues to be organized and available to kids of all ages.

“If you’re interested in volunteering, help administer the house league, whether that’s behind-the-scenes kind of running the show and helping manage, or if it’s on the field as a coach – that’s great. We can’t have this happen without people coming forward.”

Warren says they’ll need several dedicated individuals interested in working as a team, in order to see this season come to fruition.
