Prescott’s Seymour Recreation Complex continues to come together step by step.
At their regular meeting earlier this week, Prescott Town Council received a report on the first phase of the outdoor activities and amenities that will one day be located in the area around the Alaine Chartrand Community Centre.
With the design work now complete, a request for tender will be issued this week with the results brought back to council for review in October.
Prescott Mayor Gauri Shankar says the town will benefit greatly from what will one day be in place.
“That is going to be the envy of every small community in our area because we’re going to have soccer fields, we’re going to have tennis courts, we’re going to have dedicated pickleball courts.”
Shankar adds the tennis and pickleball courts will have removable nets and posts which will allow for the surface to be used as a base for an outdoor skating rink in the winter.
