The 14-year-old suspect charged in an anonymous threat investigation involving a Kemptville school has hired a Brockville-based lawyer.
The suspect from Nova Scotia, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, made a brief appearance via video link in a Brockville courtroom Thursday morning.
Felicia O’Hara told the court that she has been hired as the suspect’s lawyer and she asked for him to be brought back to court virtually on November 26 for a bail hearing.
In October, the suspect from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia was arrested and charged following threats made against St. Michael Catholic High School, beginning Sept. 12 and continuing until Oct. 17.
The threats resulted in the school being closed several times.
He faces numerous charges including uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, indecent communications and public mischief.
He also faces similar charges in the United States.
