With a mixture of video footage, still images and historical information, a new video encapsulates much of what United Way Leeds and Greenville tries to accomplish.
The 30-second production by Beattie Film, currently on the not-for-profit’s Facebook page, describes how the local United Way has been a “cornerstone of the community” for more than 65 years.
Hailie Jack, Executive Director of United Way Leeds and Greenville, said marketing is important to educate and stay in the public eye.
What better way then an professionally produced video?
“It came about because we need to renew and raise our profile in the communities.”
A narrator notes how the organization has built stronger futures through essential services, capacity building and poverty reduction.
Complimenting the dialogue are images of well-known community landmarks, including post offices, along with clippings of fundraising campaigns and donations to local not-for-profits, such as the YMCA.
There are plenty of photographs of local residents and community leaders who have contributed over the years.
Jack said the organization is looking for community partners to show the video – with an eye at local municipal centres, hospital waiting rooms, or wherever there is a television.
The production also has staying power.
“It’s timeless and it’s truly who we are…it’s going to be around for years to come.”
United Way Leeds & Grenville funds 16 member agencies that serve more than 40 communities.
