From increasing the value of production to weed control, and challenges in corn pest management, there is a topic for all interests at the Eastern Ontario Crop Conference Tuesday at Kemptville Campus.
The event features a number of guest speakers providing subject matter expertise.
The itinerary included ‘Disease Management’ with Albert Tenuta, a field crop plant pathologist and Dr. Owen Wally, an innovative field crop pathologist at Agriculture Canada, and their discussion about disease issues that impacted eastern Ontario and Quebec growers.
Also on the speaker list with an information session called ‘Reaping When You Sow’ is Peter Archer, a Campbellford farmer, with his talk of strategies that will increase production value over time by catching opportunities and avoiding pitfalls on the calendar.
A trade show with industry representatives is also featured.
The conference is part of the Ontario Agricultural Conference.
