It’s a grass roots, inclusive, Canadian-driven event.
That’s how organizer Robert Smith describes Osgoode PorchFest.
As the name suggests, it’s a collaboration of musicians and an ever-expanding roster of entertainers who literally perform on porches, all gathering in Osgoode – Vernon,
It takes place during the second weekend of June.
Smith said there is something for everyone, and all ages.
“It’s a whole village coming out and doing all sorts of stuff.”
The 7th annual event started with five performers.
There were 60 plus last year.
Expansion has led to the inclusion of dancers, hoop artists, a car show, a market, a chili cookoff and activities for youth.
Smith’s wife, Ashley Koning, also organizes.
“Last year it was packed. Just people all up and down Main Street.”
There is no charge for any of the activities.
