Federal Election: Five candidates confirmed in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes

Voters in Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes have five federal candidates to choose from on election day.

Elections Canada has confirmed the list for the April 28 vote.

They include Hailey Simpson with the People’s Party of Canada, Michael Barrett for the Conservatives, the New Democrats’ Paul Lancione, Randi Ramdeen with the Green Party and the Liberal’s Lorna Jean Edmonds.

There are several voting options up to and including election day.

Advance polls are being held over Easter weekend.

They’re open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., April 18-21.

Information on where to vote, both on election day or at the advance polls will be listed on your voter information card and can be searched on the Elections Canada website.

That’s also where you can register to vote if you’re unsure if you’re on the list and apply to vote by mail.

Ballots can also be cast at returning offices in the riding up until 6 p.m. on April 22.

The main office is in Brockville, with an additional office at 288 County Road 44 in Kemptville.

Polls will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Election Day.
