Prescott continues to work out details regarding water service cost recovery agreement with Edwardsburgh/Cardinal

The Town of Prescott continues to hammer out details regarding the water service cost recovery agreement with the Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal. The agreement would allow the town to recover the value of the water plant infrastructure needed to provide Edwardsburgh/Cardinal up to 6,000 m3 of water per month. The one time payment would be just over $560,000 plus $25,000 in engineering and legal costs. The township had requested increasing the water capacity by another 1,000 m3 to 7,000 m3. Mayor Brett Todd says there were reasons why they chose not to increase the capacity at this time.

Todd says they could revisit the extra capacity down the road. Right now, the town wants the deal finalized by the end of the year.
