If you use well water, the health unit says you should have your water tested. The Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark District Health Unit says wells can be contaminated due to varying water levels when a drought has been going on for a long period of time. That’s due to the water table dropping, and the well pulling contaminants from further away into the drinking water supply. Water testing is free for residents. Â Testing bottles are available at the health unit or in many municipal offices. Find out more at www.healthunit.org.
