A small levy could be added to your municipal taxes to create funding for hospital capital projects. The 0.5% levy would be added to the county portion of your municipal taxes within the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. The United Counties Committee of the Whole discussed the idea at a meeting earlier this month. Warden Dave Gordon says funding would have to be applied for by the hospital looking to help fund a capital project. Gordon says it will help hospitals in and around the United Counties.
The levy would raised about $180,000 across the county in 2017.
