Province Approves Wine Sales in Grocery Stores

About 70 grocery stores across Ontario have been approved to sell wine now.
The provincial government made the announcement Friday with immediate effect.
Large chains like Loblaws, Metro, and Sobey’s are on the list as well as a select number of independent grocers.
While no stores in the immediate area have been given licence to sell wine, Jonsson’s Independent Grocer in Kemptville is now selling wine and beer.
Beer, wine, and cider will eventually become available in up to 300 stores in Ontario under the province’s plan to make alcohol more accessible.
