The Leeds and Grenville Interval House is raising awareness for Women Abuse Prevention Month this November through a new campaign.
The City of Brockville has declared November “Shine The Light Month”, and the Interval House is adopting the Shine The Light campaign which was started by the London Abused Women’s Centre and has now become a provincial wide initiative.
There will be sights throughout the community during the month of November highlighting the movement to end violence against women including two separate flag risings and a purple tree of courage.
The first flag raising will happen today at Brockville City Police Station at 11:30am, and a second will take place on November 14th at Brockville City Hall.
The month will end with a 16 Days of Action social media campaign which followers can participate in to do their part in helping to end violence against women.
