A group labelled Ontario Alliance Against School Closures has had enough of the pupil accommodation review process currently taking place in Ontario that could displace many students from their local schools.
The group has organized a rally at Queen’s Park on November 21st and plans to march on the Ontario Legislature’s front steps to demand a halt to the consolidation review process.
Groups from Sudbury, Owen Sound, and Eastern Canada will all be represented, with busses leaving from Cornwall and Williamstown at 3:00am on the day of the rally.
OAASC is planning to deliver a letter to the Minister of Education, Mitzie Hunter, calling for a moratorium to the accommodation review process which has been signed by 40 different “Save our Schools” group across Ontario as well as provincial unions CUPE and Ontario Public Service Employees.
