Prescott was visited by six delegates from Shangrao, China over the weekend.
Led by Shangrao Party Secretary Chengzu Ma, the delegates were in town to establish the beginning of a business relationship between Prescott and the Chinese city, which is home to 7.8 million people.
The event started off with a reception where council members and the representatives could start to build friendships, something crucial in developing business connections in Chinese culture.
Although, Mayor Brett Todd says discussions were light before signing a letter of intent with Shangrao because of the language barrier.
The next step in building business relations is for representatives of Prescott to travel to Shangrao for a second meeting.
