The Christmas spirit has stuck Leeds and Grenville, with many events happening this weekend.
On Saturday, Christmas in Merrickville takes place and gets going bright and early with breakfast with Santa at the Royal Canadian Legion at 8:00am until 10:30am.
Then from 9:00am to 1:00pm at the Merrickville Community Centre, the annual Cookie Walk and Weigh gets started.
The Merrickville Christmas Parade put on by the Volunteer Fire Department gets rolling up St. Lawrence Street starting at 11:00am too.

To wrap up the day, the Lighting of the Village Christmas Tree will take place at 5:00pm.
Elsewhere, later that night in Athens, the Parade of Lights Santa Claus Parade will be leaving Centre 76 at 7:00pm.
