With budget talks underway at recent Committee of the Whole meetings, it appears the town is set to increase the budget by $600,000.
Roughly $345,000 of that spending will go towards Parks and Recreation, with park maintenance being delayed from last year. Upgrades to the pool like a family change room and an accessible washroom are also planned expenses.
The town is saving about $190,000 through a lightening contract with the Ontario Provincial Police according to Acting Treasurer Matthew Armstrong.
Budget talks will resume after a Christmas break on January 9th, with the budget hoping to be passed at Council on January 23rd.
