The annual inaugural meeting for the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus was held last week in Kingston.
Elections took place at the meeting and three key priorities were discussed for the upcoming year. Those include improving infrastructure and connectivity with the help of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network, growing the regional economy with the expansion of natural gas to rural businesses, farms, and communities, and reducing operational costs such as policing.
During the election process, Mayor Robert Quaiff of Prince Edward County was selected as the 2017 Chair of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus. Lanark County Warden Bill Dobson was elected Vice-Chair.
