Council members’ new code of conduct is going back to the workshop for changes.
Committee of the Whole members decided on Monday night to delay the adoption of their new code of conduct until their communications protocols were included as well.
Prescott council’s first code of conduct is modelled after cities like Ottawa, with town CAO Pierre Mercier saying the adoption of this document represents a forward thinking council.
The code of conduct currently requires council members maintain four key traits: respect, accountability, impartialness, and transparency.
With the changes, the code of conduct will not be approved until February’s council meeting.
