Make sure your skates are sharpened for this weekend’s Skate The Lake speed skating marathon in Portland, Ontario.
The annual winter festival is in its 13th year now will feature races for men and women, and kids and adults, ranging from five to 50 kilometres on the oval track on Portland’s Big Rideau Lake.
The weekend-long event features a number of family activities as well including hockey, curling, sleigh rides, and helicopter rides overtop of the lake.
