Business is booming in Gananoque according to a recent report that shows job growth is up by over 16% in the last five years.
The small business sector is where the most growth was seen over that time period according to Economic Development Director Shelley Hirstwood. The report also shows 13 new businesses opened up in the past five years.
Manufacturing still employs the most people in Gananoque, with just under 600 jobs.
This report comes out not long after the Town of Prescott has put together a team of local business leaders to fill out their Business Retention and Expansion Committee.
The nine community leaders will be tasked with creating new jobs for the area and solving local business problems.
