Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark is calling for the Upper Canada School Board trustees to reject staff’s new proposal to close rural schools.
Clark believes the trustees were set to ignore the public’s presentations that the accommodation review committee have heard over the past months, and go ahead with the original recommendations anyways.
Currently the report is calling for seven schools in Leeds and Grenville to close.
Clark says this battle isn’t about saving individual schools, but rather forging a plan for the future of rural schools.
