Driver Caught Going Twice The Speed Limit On 401

Drivers are being asked to slow down after the OPP stopped a vehicle doing just about double the speed limit on Highway 401.

On Tuesday afternoon, officers clocked a car going 194 kilometres per hour. They stopped the car travelling westbound on the 401 near Mallorytown and charged a 19-year-old Oakville man with stunt driving. His license was suspended and his vehicle was impounded over the incident.

Police are asking people to slow down because driving too quickly makes it more difficult to react to situations and other vehicles in front of you. It also puts you, and other drivers, at higher risk.
