The social housing need is shifting in Leeds and Grenville according to Prescott Mayor Brett Todd.
Mayor Todd took a moment at Tuesday’s council meeting to address multiple concerns from the public about social housing demographic in town.
Todd says the numbers don’t add up when it comes to social housing in Prescott. The Fort Town currently holds 25% of Leeds and Grenville’s social housing, but only makes up about 4% of the county’s population.
He says areas closer to Ottawa like Kemptville are in the most need for social housing with the current population boom taking place in the area.
Todd says it is an ongoing process, but the town is doing its best to create blended communities by integrating social and market housing together.
