Public Searching For Answers To Opioid Crisis

With fentanyl finding its way into communities across the province, concerned residents in the region are looking for reassurance.

A public meeting was held in Kanata on Monday in the wake of two teen deaths in the past two months, which police have determined were opioid overdoses.

Hundreds attended the meeting, according to 580 CFRA, searching for answers as to how widespread the issue is, how to detect opioid addictions, and how to handle the issue with youth.

In response to the growing concern, Grenville County OPP has been receiving emergency fentanyl training this week.

They say that although the drug is not in Prescott yet, it has been found in Brockville.
