Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne is slashing hydro rates by another 17 per cent. This is on top of the eight per cent HST rebate which began on January 1st.
The cuts coming this summer will take money off hydro bills and redirect some of the costs to taxpayers.
Wynne says the province will also increase the amortization of the electricity system’s mortgage for additional savings.
