An investigation by East Region OPP has resulted in a number of transport trucks being pulled off the road.
The investigation that took place along Highway 401 on Wednesday, aimed to identify safety hazards on trucks before an incident happens.
This comes after a transport wheel flew off a truck on the 401 near Prescott and damaged five cars on February 24th. An Ottawa man was also killed from a flying tractor trailer wheel while driving on Highway 417 on February 10th.
OPP Constable David Bird says during the investigation 47 commercial vehicles were inspected, with 11 being pulled off the road.
Bird says to react to such an accident, give yourself extra space, slow down, and keep your eyes down the road while driving..
