Town councillors will be pulling double duty tonight with Committee of the Whole and a special council meeting afterwards.
At Committee of the Whole, members are set to make a decision to implement safety measures in the Leo Boivin Centre. Ammonia sensors and an emergency protocol are two of the recommendations staff have made in the event of a leak from the arena’s ammonia ice plant.
The following special council meeting should see councillors approve this year’s water, wastewater, operational, and capital projects budgets, as well as set the tax ratios. Homeowners can expect to pay an extra 1.59% on their property taxes for 2017, equal to $32.70 per year.
