A group called Citizens Against The Dump are fighting the proposed sale of dump site ED-19 in Spencerville.
The Brockville Recorder and Times reports that a number of protesters showed up to the Counties Council on Tuesday to plead their case.
The protest group urged the council to stop any sale as the data for the site approval is now 25-years-old and out of date.
The group also said it is wrong to go forward with any sale because the community has changed so much in the last 20 years since the Ministry of Environment last approved the landfill.
Through arguments, council members stressed that there is no sale of the ED-19 landfill site taking place at this time.
