In celebration of International Women’s Day this week, The Leeds and Grenville Small Business Enterprise Centre has announced Mary Rae Knapp as their Lifetime Achievement Award winner.
The award has presented to the Athens native last night at the Aquatarium in Brockville, and recognizes women as business leaders in their communities.
Wendy Onstein, Manager at the Small Business Enterprise Center, says Knapp has reached the highest level of competency possible in the insurance business. Knapp has worked at JB Kelly Insurance since 1978. She also served as President of the Leeds Grenville Insurance Brokers Association.
Onstein says Knapp also has an eye for talent, helping kick start the careers of Canadian county artists Johnny Reid and Brett Kissel.
Knapp has also volunteered countless hours at her church and the Joshua Bates Centre, both in Athens
