Winter Storm Warning In Effect for Prescott And Area

It’ll hopefully be one of the last kicks at the can for Old Man Winter.

A winter storm warning is in place for Prescott, Brockville, Gananoque, Mallorytown, Merrickville, Wolford, Kemptville, Westport, and Charleston Lake.

Environment Canada is predicting up to 25 centimetres of snow by tomorrow morning.

The weather service is also predicting winds up to 50 kilometres per hour which will cause blowing snow.

Environment Canada Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says the eye of the storm will be over the eastern U.S. seaboard and Atlantic Canada, but that won’t stop areas in the St. Lawrence and Ottawa valleys from receiving a lot of snow.

Environment Canada warns that travel conditions could be more dangerous due to the snowfall and wind.
