Two items are on the agenda for tonight’s Committee of the Whole meeting.
First the committee will receive a presentation on an update for the town’s new fire hall. Last time the fire hall was discussed, council chose to move forward on interior and exterior designs for the hall, allowing for some slight adjustments.
The committee will also be directed on how best to distribute this year’s community grants and special events and tourism grants.
Initial requests for both pools of funding are more than what the town has budgeted for 2017. Only $36,600 was allocated for community grants, with requests totalling $50,600. A total of $21,400 was budgeted for special events and tourism grants this year, with requests totalling $21,750.
